About Linda Watkins

Linda Watkins Leadership DevelopmentMy desire is to help leaders use the intelligence of their bodies to become, more centered, resilient, and authentic and therefore better leaders. I trace my passion and curiosity in the field of leadership development back to my father. As a child and young adult, seeing him struggle under the leadership of his trade union and organization, I became curious about how a more improved form of leadership could enhance people’s lives while creating new possibilities for organizational growth. This curiosity and compassion continues to inform every aspect of my work and leads me on a path of research and understanding of how people grow and learn and how leaders shepherd organizational change. After many years of research and practice, I believe that success and satisfaction with work and life requires the whole person not simply the intellect. I work with leaders seeking collaborative partnership as they take on challenges, enter new territory or seek to deepen their authenticity and fulfillment.

My coaching encompasses the Immunity to Change process of Robert Kegan and the Embodied Leadership work of Richard Strozzi Heckler among other methodologies but I understand there is no formula. I see successful leadership and organizational development as a generative process that grounds us in our deepest values and commitments as we grow our organizational capabilities and personal presence.

I began my adult career leading a Kellogg foundation grant project in leadership responsibility. Currently, I am coaching current and aspiring leaders and am a faculty member in Chapman University’s Masters of Organizational Leadership program where I teach several courses, including Ethics, Personal Mastery for Leaders, Leadership and Innovation and Self, Systems and Leadership. I am a certified coach through both the Strozzi Institute and Newfield Network and also a certified Pilates instructor. I am a member of the International Consortium for Coaching in Organization (ICCO) the Society of Organizational Learning (SoL), the Neuroleadership Institute and the Academy for Systemic Change. I was one of the founders and president of two different professional associations and worked with clients in health care, manufacturing, and more.

I love helping clients find a new way of being in the world. Call me for a conversation about your needs and how we might work together.
